Victor Volokovich
Source characterization: RAW;
Role: The Baron’s son; possesses a dangerously botched teleportation circle; a possible lead to the Tome of Strahd
Key characterization principles:
- In possession of a dangerously botched teleportation circle (per raw material).
- Family trait: vanity, including staring into ornate mirrors — this alone is meant to organically point players toward the enchanted Spirit Mirror in the Volokovich mansion (see Tome of Strahd), without the mirror itself being an active manipulator.
- Explicitly rejected: making the Spirit Mirror an overtly sentient, “basically Tom Riddle” voice whispering to Victor — vetoed as too on-the-nose.
- Married to Stella Watcher in a Watcher-family political maneuver; was cruel to her, which broke her sanity.
- [IDEA — NONCANONICAL] 2026-09-19: Victor desperately wants to escape Barovia and hates his father. When he looks into the Spirit Mirror (now a mirror of the future) he sees himself fat and aged into the Burgomaster — his father’s image — which feeds his cruelty. Stella’s diary notes Victor “is not as nice as he seems.”
