Session 5 - Meeting Ireena | Curse of Strahd

Dismas and Theren’s ambush saves the party a combat encounter at the western barricade
Players meet Rahadin for the first time. He informs Ismark that he is the new Burgomaster and therefore his father is dead.
Players find our Kolyan was killed and Ireena bitten by a vampire (it was Strahd)
Ismark ask players to take Ireena to Vallaki. Players accept
They confirm that Gertruda is 14 and are promptly surprised that Jacob is pursuing this person. They do not realize yet that Barovia Gertruda is a soul’s reincarnation of Jacob’s Gertruda.
They realize the scholar Alenik who stayed with the Ireena, Ismark, and Kolyan likely incited or at the least helped Doru’s rebellion.
They learn they are trapped by the mists
They learn of the March of the Dead and Theren was especially worried that Reysatra was part of it.
They get their first long rest all campaign

Players meet Ireena and agree to take her to Vallaki
Ismark becomes Burgomaster of Barovia
Players find a map from Van Richten that (unknown to them yet) directs them to a place of power of the Huntress near Barovia
Players put together the clues to realize Gertruda and Doru were incited to revolt against Strahd in part due to “Alenik’s” presence in Barovia. They do not know it is Von Richten, but they know this vampire hunter was there.
