Cassandra Priam

  • Aesthetic archetype: Oracle of Delphi — prophetic, otherworldly, classical Greek influence

  • Race/Class: Air Genasi Divination Wizard

  • Personality notes: Valley girl. Ditsy. Playful.

  • Background provided by player: Cassandra Priam: early twenties
    Father: Senator Archelaus Priam
    Mother: Lady Mirabella Priam
Siblings: Archelaus Priam II (M, older), Cassandra Priam, Sostratus Priam (M, youngest).

Juicy gossip: Mom and dad are in a political arranged marriage, but also a lavender marriage arrangement. Fiercely loyal to eachother, they each have had lovers, as niether are straight. Out of duty though, they had the “heir and spare”, but Cassandra kinda ruined their attempt to only have to go through the process twice. All children are legitimate.
Lovers are kept on the down low, but this open mindedness has bled into the lives of their children.
Archelaus and Sostratus are somewhat protective of their sister. She has more knowledge of the family business because of her abilities, but she generally spends her days in the fields or library.

Governing region: Napus Valley
Main export: Wine
Wealth: Very prosperous. Region very often supplies wine to the royal family, their quality is always high, and availability is consistent. Amazingly consistent. Almost…too consistent. Like there’s someone predicting the future and can guide the region to making the right choices at the right time.
Suitors?
Hah. Well. Right now she’s had 4 failed engagements. All politically based, with lessor and lessor influencial men as time went on.
Seneca Lucullus: Prophecied that he would lose his hair and have a beer belly very very soon. He took great offense to that one. He ended the engagement that evening.
Maximus Meridius: Told him to avoid boats. You could die very bad ways on boats. He scoffed. Died in a boating accident not six months later.
Cassius Julus: Told him that “the early bird gets the worm, and grainaries are always worth investing in.” She bankrupted him on accident when she failed to mention said grainaries would be washed away in a flood. The marriage was called off.
Julius Arcadius: Said mean things about her and her character when he caught her “moonbathing” out in the vineyards. How was she supposed to know that some people are too prudish to partake in prancing around open fields, letting the moonlight bathe across naked skin? It’s a common practice around Napus. Prick. (He broke that engagement off).

After that last one, there hasn’t been a concerted effort to try again. Her parents have somewhat resigned themselves at this point.

Quirks:
-will happily read “your fortune” with her deck of cards. Completely makes it up.
-Sometimes gets visions of the future so powerful she speaks it in front of whomever is there. Quite a spectacle. Eyes cloud over, hair drifts around her face, all very unproper and unladylike.
-Likes to steal books from people and places. Not because she can’t afford to, but because it’s fun.
-Has a wee drinking problem. Yes it’s to drown out the voices, and yes it’s part of the job, but she kinda should work on that.

  1. Madam Eva
  • Key Plot Points:
  1. 0.5 - Sent to find Madam Eva
  2. 3.5 - Saw the shadow play, a play of the Three Fanes
  3. 9.0 - Revealed, in the campfire storytelling game, that Lycius is not a foundling she rescued from an abandoned nest as she’d initially claimed — the true version is that Lycius is a multi-generation family familiar, inherited across several generations of Priam wizards, which is why his coloring shows no distinguishing mark of any one primordial bloodline. Above-table this was played as the session’s “lie.”
  4. 10.0 - Lycius ate one of Morgantha’s cheese pies, became blissfully sedated and fell asleep (failed CON save). Drew two Tarokka cards: the Executioner (upright) on first sighting Lake Zarovich, and the Ten of Stars (Wizard) about Gaille and Kasimir. New mechanic introduced: after each reading she rolls a d100 against a GM-set DC, and Chris tells her privately whether the reading feels accurate (it may still be accurate either way).
  5. 11.0 - Lycius is still asleep from the pie, lying on her head. Offered a Tarokka reading on the sickness’s cause (not drawn). Pressed Emeric on whether the pies were what made the refugees sick.
