Lyasra
-

-
Race/Class: Luxodon Twilight Cleric of Ilmater
-
Personality notes: Has a martyr complex
-
Background provided by Player: This Loxodon was born to moderately wealthy merchant family in an unimportant city whose distinguishing feature is that it had an academy in which Lyasra went to school. Unfortunately before she could finish her parents were murdered for not paying their protection money on time.
As a result Lyasra was forced into joining the red fang clan, a somewhat violent underworld group that was rapidly spreading across the country. Her years were spent shaking down merchants, targeting and abducting visitors for ransom and acting as a meat shield in the occasional underworld clashes that resulted with the Red Fang’s never ending expansion.
Towards Lyasra’s 50th year a group of 5 countries allied together to destroy the Red Fang, leading to a brutal war that lasted nearly 10 years. With her limited spells and thick skin, the Loxodon was forced to wade through battle after battle of blood and death, even as her guild began to crumble around her.
Near the end of the war, a stunning betrayal by several Red Fang leaders spelled the end for the guild and Lyasra, alongside two guild friends decided to break away and escape into a neighboring country. Unfortunately one of her friends betrayed her and the other, ending with the death of the third. Lyasra barely escaped with her life.
Broken, destitute and disillusioned, Lyasra became a wanderer, searching for new meaning in life. A chance encounter with a traveling Cleric 30 years later led to Lyasra going on a pilgrimage, searching for atonement. Her path led her to a small temple to Ilmater. The local priest there heard her story of pain and betrayal and has sent her on a quest to endure the suffering of the world. Lyasra still does not believe she is redeemable, but who is she to question the orders of the divine? Her journey as a Twilight Cleric of Ilmater has begun.
Quirks: Lyasra is usually surprised when any of her spells actually work.
She cares little for healing others beyond they endure
While no longer cruel, she tends to be a bit standoffish and slow to trust, but loyalty is cherished and reciprocated.
Lyasra won’t intentionally torture someone, but she has seen too much of death and won’t kill others unless pushed or required.
She abhors fanaticism, of both so called good as well as evil, and will often take the side of the oppressed.
Why say three words when one will do.
